Today after school (seems like I’m saying this too often after graduating…) I grabbed lunch with a couple classmates. She took us to what is called a buffet, but the system isn’t like the typical you pay a set price and it’s all you can eat. This one was where you get a plate and tongs and pick what you want. At the till, the lady looks at what you have and names a price. Not sure how accurate it is everytime but it’s a neat system. From the prices I heard her charging others and myself, they all sounded very budget friendly and reasonable, hence all the locals and nearby workers filling the place during lunch time. The seating was very much sit whereever there is space. As people come during their lunch break, waiting for an entire table to open up would take too long and would actually be impossible and people will sit in any space free regardless of who is already sat there.

There were many options to choose from. On the side were different kinds of meats, fish and egg. Before the till, they ask if you want rice and how much. Everyone also gets a cup for soup. The pot of soup was huge so that the ladles were probably a meter long. It was kinda funny seeing how far people had to stand from the pot to get some soup.

I got a cabbage side, shredded tofu, shredded seaweed, radish salad, and a piece of salmon. It was all pretty good. Salmon was a little on the dry side but still good fish. But there bones in the fish…. This is very normal in Taiwan but kinda annoying. The soup was i think chicken broth..? It was light and flavorful. Overall 5/10
