daffodil day ❀

every year, a small village near to cambridge has their annual daffodil fair. this event is for charity and run by volunteers. the fair is during the blooming time of these flowers and includes more than just flowers. id say it was like any other country fair. there was live music, many food stalls and activities. while walking to the high street of this village, a few residents had their gardens open to the public to wander through. they are very well kept.

the first stop along the way was where the petting zoo and other animals were. here i petted many and got a pulled pork sandwich. i had regular expectations for it but it was a let down. cold. anyways.

we (fam and i) got to the main area where we headed toward the live music surrounded by food trucks. this was THE food spot. got some samosas which were super. then as we knew that our friend was running their truck too, we went to grab some of their food. they specialize in pulled meats. this was a lot better than the first thing. not only was it warm, but it was moist and had flavor.

i could also smell churros so i caved and got some. they weren’t bad, but something felt off. it wasnt until after that my mother mentioned there wasn’t any cinnamon. no wonder. what kinda churros doesnt have cinnamon?? and they advertised themselves for being multi-award winning…..

after, we wandered further along the street and came across a blacksmith shop. they were demoing how their equiptment works and how they made some of the items they sell. on the side was a bucket of used horseshoes. knowing people us those for luck, my mother and i have been on the hunt. seeing these for only £2 was awesome. currently have mine by my door (cleaned) for all the good luck i can get.

prior to coming, i read the program and saw that there were dray rides! as we had to prebook entrance, these rides came included. there was a long line and the ride was short, but how often do you get a chance to be pulled by a horse? they were very pretty. thank you albert and alfie.
